Political Parties should not promise freebies to people paid from tax payers money

Political parties promise a whole lot of free stuff in return for votes. TVs, Bicycles, etc are the most common. How is this different from Cash for votes thingy? Promises for subsidizing food, electricity etc also should be put to scrutiny so that they make economic sense and not to be used as a vote garnering mechanism. There must be a mechanism to stop it.

Satya, if you think political parties should NOT be allowed to promise freebies then u can vote for this statement. If you feel political parties can promise freebies then u can put a thumbs down

It is not clear what I stand for when i CLICK yES i Like IT OR i dont like it. THE QUESTION NEEDS TO BE AFFIRMATIVE OR negative SO THAT ONE OF THE CHOICE CAN BE CONSIDERED.
